SnowSportMoves.com is an educational website for winter athletes of all ages and levels who want to understand the biomechanical structure of the human body for improved skiing & boarding through some introductory neuromuscular re-education.

Skiing and
boarding are based on aligned movement patterns which originate from a sound functional dynamic posture, which is now recognized as the correct beginning point for all athletic motions in all sports.

Elite athletes the world over have access to trainers, therapists and movement specialists who help them biomechanically balance their bodies, refine their movements and improve their respective techniques in sport.

The average person also has access to some movement systems that focus on sound posture and body balance. A number of these include: various schools of yoga,
Pilates, The Alexander Technique, Ideokinesis, The Feldenkrais Method, the teachings of Eric Franklin, the physical conditioning ideas of such innovators as Grey Cook and Michael Boyle, working with a local experienced physical therapist of your choice, The Egoscue Method, and Crossfit.com.

We borrow from these in providing you with an introduction to creating your own balanced posture and movement patterns.

Note that this is not a website about ski and snowboard technique, but one about posture, alignment, movement and neuromuscular re-education.

Don't forget to check out our new
Fitness Page.

Please seek your physicians advice before attempting any of the exercises in this website.
